WHERE SILENCE TAKES FORM

''LOOK'' Gallery - Riga, Latvia

06.26.2025 - 07.19.2025

In this series, Juliia Jankavs explores the relationship between figuration and abstraction through the image of the horse. Reduced to essential forms, the works invite an emotional rather than analytical response, allowing each viewer to bring their own meaning into the image. A deep blue palette creates a sense of visual silence and stillness. The horse appears as a symbol of inner presence - sensitive, intuitive, and quietly expressive. What seems simple at first gradually reveals layers of calm and reflection.

Created during a time of external chaos, these works became a form of grounding for the artist. Painting turned into a meditative process of letting go and returning to inner balance, beyond rules and expectations.

Jankavs works do not aim to provoke, but to offer a space of quiet presence and contemplation, where simplicity opens room for personal interpretation.
